Autumn Term Dates

Half Term: 20th to 28th October (two Saturdays off)
Spring Term Starts 7th January 2019
Dear Parents and Pupils
Welcome back after the summer break. Thank you so much for the end of term gifts and cards.
As it’s the start of the academic year we would like to wish everyone starting a new school, college or university the very best of luck. We hope those leaving the area to go to uni will come back and visit us often.
The summer term was rounded off with two ballet exam days and another year with 100% pass rate. Congratulations to everyone but especially to Ella O Sullivan who passed her Intermediate exam, just a couple of weeks after her A Levels, with a very high Merit. Very well done Ella!
We have been asked to remind you of the forthcoming London Children’s Ballet Auditions which are being held in October and November. The audition application deadline is 14th October so if you are interested and aged between 9-14 go online to www.londonchilrensballet.com for more information.
Modern/Tap exam session is planned for the end of this term, 9th December, which will be confirmed when we hear back from the ISTD.
Dance Show I am hoping to have our dance show at the end of the Spring Term 2019 but am still waiting to hear of venue availability. I will let you know ASAP and will send out more details closer to the time.
Timetable. Please check the timetable carefully and make sure you are paying the correct amount for your class or classes. Fees are detailed overleaf.
Uniform. Please encourage your child to wear the correct uniform from Primary upwards. Older girls doing Modern must wear a leotard to class and not sports tops etc. We are looking at a new Modern leotard for Grades 4 upwards and will the students know what to buy when they have outgrown their old one. Please make sure your child has elastics on their ballet shoes and the correct leg wear, ballet socks up to and including Level 1, ballet tights for Level 2 upwards. The uniform is listed on our website www.mg-dance.co.uk . Hair must be tied up for all classes and in a bun for girls in Level 3 ballet upwards.

Absent or Discontinuing Classes Don’t forget if you are away for two or more classes please let your teacher know. Remember if you have to miss a class there might be an alternative on the timetable which you are welcome to attend instead. If you are discontinuing classes we do not insist on a term’s notice or a term’s fees in lieu of notice as some other schools but we would like to be informed well in advance of the beginning of a new term.
REMEMBER INVOICES ARE NOT ISSUED FOR FEES.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR PAYMENTS ARE MADE BY THE THIRD WEEK OF TERM
